The Simulation Argument / The Idea of Simulation in Life

DEFINITION

The simulation argument (simulation hypothesis or simulism) asserts that reality is a simulation, and those inside this simulation are not aware that it is a simulation. This concept is reminiscent of Descartes' Ominous Devil, but offers a more futuristic simulated reality. The same fictional technology has been used, singly or in its entirety, in sci-fi movies such as Star Trek, The Dark City, The Thirtheen, The Matrix, Open Your Eye, Vanilla Sky, Recall, Inception, and Tron.

This argument, which resurfaced with Nick Bostrom, is divided into 3 propositions.

1-) The probability of a tour in the universe at our level of development to reach high levels of technology before it is completely destroyed is very small.

2-) Almost none of the technologically advanced species are interested in simulating our mindset.

3-) We almost certainly live in a simulation.

Nick Bostrom, "Are You Living in a Simulation?" He wrote his article in 2003.

I think one of the main points we need to think about is the concept of perfection and god in simulation in this argument.

What do I mean?

I mean, actually, if we're in a simulation, there must be something doing the simulation. Whoever did it, it brings up the fact that we have to question his existence too. There are "extraordinary" situations in the universe design we currently accept. There are many points that go against our laws of physics. Things that we do not think of may actually be coded for us to understand, wrongly done or deliberately not done perfectly. But would anyone doing the simulation allow us to think about this?

Could the idea of God be a shadow of the idea of simulation? Could the person who created this simulation have presented the concept of "God" to people's understanding of life? After all, the concept of God is something innate. Every sane person, why am I here? who created me asking such questions means that he was born with a creative idea already in his background.

Before addressing this argument of Nick Bostrom, I can say that after doing a lot of research, I got a different opinion.

In fact, the simulation argument can be a normal situation in a vicious circle. Today's technology is growing rapidly and we can do simple simulations. For the simplest example, Open World Games and Choices might be games that progress with the Choice Tree we made. But these will not be enough to make a mind simulation yet. Because the simulation we are in requires a superior technology. According to some thinkers and scientists, it is said that we can reach this technology in a few decades.

Here there are 2 options.

-The simulator will self-destruct when it reaches the level of danger within the owner. (When our technology gets to the point of creating its own simulation.)

-Vicious circle. In fact, the people of the previous generation have already reached this technology and imprisoned us in this simulation. Just as we will do in a few 10 years.

Roughly What Does Nick Bostrom Actually Mean?

If our civilization has a chance to come to the post-human stage and run many ancestor-simulations, then why not live in such a simulation?

We will turn this idea into a rigorous discussion. Let's introduce the following notation:

: The fraction of all human-level technological civilizations that have survived to reach the post-human stage

: Average number of ancestor-simulations run by post-human civilization

*: Average number of people who lived in a civilization before it reached a posthuman stage

The true proportion of all observers with human-type experiences living in simulations then

For the part of posthuman civilizations interested in running writing ancestor-simulations (or at least involving some individuals who are interested and having adequate resources to run such simulations in significant numbers) and for the average number of ancestor-simulations run by such respective civilizations,

and so on:

As we saw in the previous chapter, it is extremely large, due to the enormous computational power of post-human civilizations. By examining (*) we can see that at least one of the following three propositions must be true:

(1)

(2)

(3)

mathematical formula of the three propositions shown at the top.

The idea that we are in the Simulation will seem terrifying to us. But remember, this is not proven. Although people like Elon Musk believe this theory, it has not yet been accepted for 17 years.

With love...
